Such a horror. I drew this one quickly this morning. Our hearts and prayers are with the victims and their families.

The above reflects what is probably a temporary problem. Normally any crowd of Americans has a number of homicidally inclined folks packing concealed weapons that would have nailed this little creep shortly after he got started. As the NRA would say, more weapons solve everything. Unfortunately, until recently gays were denied entry into military service and thus a crowd made up largely of gays may be shortchanged as far as homicidally inclined gun toters are concerned. Twenty years from now, this will no longer be the case.
A short-run solution would be levy a surcharge on gun sales to provide free training in their use licensed by the NRA. As Donald Trump would likely say, there are a hugh number of Americans out there that need to be killed; the six or seven thousand that are shot and killed every year simply does not do it. We should ensure that the weapons (preferably fully automatic M-16's), the ammunition, AND the training are made available to good Americans so that they can kill off bad people more quickly. 🙂
I'm assuming you're being ironic. A real solution would be to resist the propaganda of the NRA and ban military-style assault weapons, as Australia did. They've had no mass shootings since that ban. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-35048251
Apparently Australia is not doing so well, a lack of mass shootings aside. China is buying up their natural resources.
The United States tried banning military-style assault weapons. The result was that such shootings went down. When the ban expired (in 2004?), there was a resurgence in mass shootings. Our Republican Congress has no desire to go back to the bad old days of the Clinton ban. They recognize a need to 'thin the herd' (mass shootings tend to trim the Democratic base). If it is good for the NRA, it is good for the GOP, n'est-ce pas?
