Just received word that Chris Britt (view Britt’s recent cartoons here) has been laid-off from his job as the staff cartoonist for the State Journal-Register in Springfield, Illinois. Chris, a contributor to, has been the staff cartoonist at the Journal-Register since 1999, and was let go amid cutbacks and financial difficulties by the paper’s parent company, Gatehouse.
