With the first big Presidential debate approaching between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, I thought it’d be fun to look back at this collection of cartoons about the Presidential debates in 2008 between Obama and Arizona Senator John McCain.

In honor of the premiere of “Game Change,” the new HBO film about the selection of Sarah Palin as John McCain’s Vice Presidential candidate, I thought I’d pluck five terrific cartoons from the 2008 primary about everyone’s favorite hockey mom from Wasilla.

Before I left on my trip last month I did an interview for BBC World, which they posted as a talking cartoon slideshow. Â It is interesting how little has changed since then as I could have given the same interview this week. Â They did a nice job of mixing it up with appropriate international cartoons. Â I sound a little too sleepy – I need to remember to pick it up a bit next time. Â See and hear the interview here.

Walking around the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists (AAEC) annual convention here in Seattle, and I came across my buddy Steve Kelley, the staff cartoonist for the New Orleans Times-Picayune and one of the funniest cartoonists working today.
